graphics?

my display went all funny and now cannot log onto windows properly at the
startup it has all blocky images and loadup of windows there is odd patches
all over the logo

is this the graphics card gone funny
if so since my motherboard supports only up to x4 agp will this graphics
card fit?? or do i now look for a new motherboard?

Could be graphics card drivers, have a look in device manager to see if
everything looks ok, or reinstall drivers..J
 
Hi S, all you can do then is pull the graphics card, reseat it firmly, and
check all cables carefully. best wishes..J

Reseat vidio card. Have you tried starting in safe mode? If no change,
may well be faulty memory on vidio card. Indicated vidio card will work on
x4 agp.

what it got to do with OS when the startup bios flash up screen comes up all
blotchy
 
i think its me motherboard, because everytime i press a component on, i
think its got a dry joint, the problem disappears for a short time. what i
mean by dry joint is that the solder joint has now become loose and needs a
fresh layer of solder on it
 
That sounds like AGP connector. I've seen that. Pull
the video card, and have a look. It could be dust
down in that connector. I actually have a leaf-blower
in my shop, and I take a dusty computer outside and
air blast the heck out of it.

Your mother board may be grounding?

its got to be either mobo or graphics i have tried to re-seat the graphics
and use air duster on it to no avail or the mobo with the air duster again
to no avail
