For those interested in graphics, this is from another ng I subscribe to.
The comments are from a photographer. He included an example
but of course I can't include that here. I'm downloading it now. Just
thought you'd like to know.

Btw, thanks Susan et al for all the good things you do for others.

This morning I ran into a link to the best stitching software I have
seen yet. The algorithms are good, the stitches seamless, the user
interface minimal, and the price is free.

http://www.cs.ubc.ca/~mbrown/autostitch/autostitch.html

The program only takes JPEG input (it is a proof of concept technology
not a commercial program) but it is very simple to use. Just select
the files as input and run it.

Yes, it's the best freeware one I've seen and/or used...does an excellent
job.
Hasn't been updated and likely wont be updated, improved as freeware which
is too bad.

I've heard some Photoshop users say that what this program does even exceeds
Photoshop's attempt. I tried this program. It's nice to be able to just open the
folder, hold down the ctrl button, highlight all jpegs you want to combine then
click 'go' (start or whatever I've forgotten now). It is so fast and not a big program.
I wish all the programs were THAT user friendly!
