I just formatted my computer and reinstalled Windows XP on it, everything is
working fine except that my resolution is bad. It will stay at 640x800 with
16 bit color, but before I reinstalled it was at a higher resolution with 16
bit. Now I can only change it to a higher resolution with 8 bit. I've tried
lots of different things, and what my current idea for how to fix it is to
find out what my graphics card is, its integrated in the motherboard, but I
don't know how to find out the name or model of it. Can anyone help me find
out how to tell what my motherboard or card is? Or what driver I need? I have
a Dell Dimension 2400, bought in January 2004.

Thanks

Check on the Dell web site for the appropriate drivers and downloads for you
particular Model / Type / Serial Number.

They have all the files you need, especially for the graphics adapter.

Once you've installed the driver, you will get back to better resolution and
colours.

R.click my computer, properties, open device mgr (in hardware tab),then
locate and expand display adapters. The nos should be listed, then close
out.Go to the mfg web site, download the current drivers/software,if its
intel based, install the chipset installation utility 1st,then the others.
