Also that day I'm so in the internet. All of sudden, the graphic was so as
if
it was trying to get stuck. Than it reacted, than again not. Mouse, all of
the
same.

Than on reboot as well as on the attempt to let run the repair installation
I was told the comp. had not hard drive no more. It's as the eaten up
memory, you know. Just before the graphic started acting nut's I think I
have heard at least on hard disk was switched off.

Also, me, I pulled one jumper off the disc (it's set now to cable select
instead of master). Not it all seems as running well again.

I, additionally, cleared some files, but non suspicious, obviously. Does
someone know if I have to meet some other precautions. As also, as
well? Or, can it stay that way?

Many thanks you lovely;
Steve

Steve,

If you only have one drive, return to the 'Master' drive setup. The BIOS
setup must be set to 'Master' also (Restart computer while pressing the
'Delete' key).
It sounds like you could have done a 'Clean' install instead of a 'Repair'
install. In a 'Clean' install you will be told at completion that there is
no Operating System on your computer. If that is the case you will need to
install Windows XP again.

Wait for more responses before you do this because if it's another problem
you may be able to recover your data.
