Grainy system tray icons

What settings do I need to adjust to improve the low-resolution grainy
looking icons in my system tray? Since the techy nuked my hard drive (long
story) and restored my system to its original state, the system tray icons
look pretty bad.

My computer is a Sony Vaio Laptop, P4, 3.06ghz, 512mb ram, 60g hard drive,
cd/dvd burner, and I am running WindowsXP Home, sp2.

Thanks,

I suspect you need to go to Sony's web site and download and install the video
driver's for the laptop.

You could / should

1) Install / Update chipset drivers

2) Install / update video card drivers (for your video card maker's web site
or the video card chipset developer's web site only. Do not rely on Windows
Updates!)

3) Check and change XP screen resolutions.
