XL2000
I took some files to a sister program today and was disappointed that the
textboxes didn't retain their appearance when loaded on their machine, also
running XL2000. All I saw was the red text I had placed in the box with no
fill effect. Try as I might, I just couldn't get a gradient fill to work.

What could be the reason?

Hi David!

See:

OFF: Changes to Fill Color and Fill Pattern Are Not Displayed
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=320531

1.. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Accessibility
Options.
2.. Click the Display tab, and then click to clear the Use High
Contrast check box.
3.. Click OK to close the Accessibility Options dialog box.

And thank Debra Dalgleish for her early work in tracking this down.

Thanks. I'll check this out next time I have access to those systems (yes,
the symptoms were present on two computers there).

Thank you Debra.
