Hi
can you tell me what GPO is? also, how would you deploy
the os patches on a novell network? would you create a
msi file? or

Hi Susie!

1) GPO = Group Policy Object, an essential part of Active
Directory. Functionallity can't be explained shortly.
Please browse to microsoft's site.

2a) I would prefer a Software Update Services (SUS) server
to deploy os patches even on a novell network. It's a
freeware (!) from MS and runs on IIS. Relese 2 will do
much more than current version (1.0_SP1), and should be
available soon.
2b) Aren't you familiar with Novell's own software
deployment tools?
2c) Security patches can be chained and deployed using a
batch file or script.
2d) No I would not create a msi file.
