Peter

I have the latest Google toolbar installed on the latest and updated
MSIE

The problem is that the Google toolbar keeps disappearing yet remains
apparently checked in IE's VIEW menu.

I am not absolutely sure but I also think it is not working as
pop-up's seems to be getting through again despite having the pop-up
blocker set, last time I saw it anyway.

Hi Peter,

There are two possibilities. Either the toolbar BHO is not loaded or the band is invisible. First, reset the toolbar layout in order to make the Google toolbar visible. Another possibility, the BHO or Toolbar is not loaded (Google Toolbar is implemented as a a BHO and a Toolbar, seperate GUIDs)

Reset the toolbar layout using ToolbarCop:
http://www.mvps.org/sramesh2k/utils/ToolbarCop.exe
Click Options menu and choose "Reset Internet Explorer toolbar layout"

If that does not help, reinstall Google Toolbar (or try registering the Google Toolbar DLL, which is located at:
C:\Program Files\Google\googletoolbar2.dll )

Hope this helps!

Erm, just so you know - if you have "googletoolbar2.dll", you have a
spyware version, which is well known. Google uses googletoolbar1.dll
as their name and some spyware replaces that with a 2 version. Your
best bet is to run a spware program like Spybot S/D, uninstall google
toolbar, run HijackThis to ensure the BHOs and other links have been
removed, then reboot, delete the 2 dll and reinstall Google.

Regards.

It's Google Client Toolbar version 2.0.111.0 and not a spyware.
