Just what the world needs, *another* IM client.

What the world needs is a standard, and since the Google client uses the
Jabber proocal we are one step forward to that.

I recall there was an IM client that supposedly worked with *all* IM
clients. Anybody know what it's called?

Miranda! Open source, less resource-hungry than any other IM client
I know. Different networks (MSN, Yahoo, Jabber, AIM, IRC, ICQ,
iChat, ...) are provided with plugins that you can disable/enable to
your own taste. UI configurability and loads of extended
functionality available through the same plugin mechanism.

Wald

I use and like Trillian3 Basic.

trillian basic cannot take the plugin needed to connect to the Jabber
network that Google talk uses. You need Trillian Pro or Gaim or Miranda...
and there are many more around.
