Recently have noticed a great deal of Google Toolbars being installed in our
network. The problem is, none of the users stated they installed it. It seems to
be installed by some other method than going to google.com. Has anyone
experienced this problem? Does anyone know of any other application that may be
installing google's toolbar? Thanks,

There are loads of utilities that come with the Google toolbar as an
optional extra ticked "on" if you don't deselect during install. from what
I've seen, the most common utility to contain it is none other than Winzip
8.1 and above.

Both the Google Tool Bar and the Google Desktop Search get installed
automatically along with WinZip 9, unless you opt for a custom
installation and deselect both of them.

Ok, next question. We use Sun Java on our desktops. I am learly on disabling the
updates as these are generally security patches (if I am correct). However, we
do not want users installing Google Toolbar. Is there any type of Corporate
Update tool for Java (like Microsoft Windows Update Services).

Thanks,

What particular Sun Java product are you using? I've never seen the
Java Runtime Environment (JRE)
(http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp) install any additional
"features" such as Google, nor has the auto-update feature (which will
only run when an administrator logs in) add such a thing. Surely you're
not letting your corporate users run as admins? If so, you'd have no
control over what they download and install.
