I just bought a new Dell computer with WinXP. As usual it
came with extra stuff I didn't want, such as the Google
Desktop Search. I uninstalled GDS, but in the My Documents
folder there's a "My Google Gadgets" subfolder, which
contains three things, all with .gg extensions (clock,
weather and alarm clock). There's no longer any reference to
"Google" in add/remove programs, so I assume but don't know
that these .gg items are leftovers from GDS.

Does anyone know whether it's ok to simply delete these
items, or are they related to something that still has to be
uninstalled?

Thanks.

YEs, you can diss them.

PS: If I recall correctly, this folder is also in the "My Documents" folder
for the default user. Remove it from there and any new users won't get one.
