Uninstalled SP2 as got fed up with WindowsMedia Player
message about Security Settings unable to play files I had
downloaded and saved with program called FlashCatcher.
Now they play on WMP as did pre-SP2. Also got fed up with
messages about whether to allow blocked downloads and other
various security messages.

Before doing above, did thorough search of SP2 info for security settings
for various programs and tried various customizations of IE security
settings which was an exercise in futility. XP Pro and all my programs
are not working as was with no problems and no pop-up security messages.
Will continue to use NAV, NIS 2003 and appropriate Spyware programs
as did pre-SP2. No immediate plans to reinstall this frustrating upgrade.
Just my experience and not recommending others do this.

Funny, I have no problems with SP2 or Media Player 9.

And, Anonymous, most do not have problems in these areas. I have not and I
have hundreds of videos, TV series, recorded TV shows, terrabytes of them
actually. I also share my computer with 4 others in the house behind the
NAT router with each of them also having their firewalls on. I connect back
and forth from my work machine to my home machines - also without incident.

However, this person was pointing out they had trouble and what that trouble
was - and as they ended it with, "Just my experience and not recommending
others do this." I have no problem with them doing this. Everyone is
entitled to their opinion and their ideas on what they should/should not
share with others.

I agree - Had nothing but problems after "upgrading"/ Add-Ins , I didn't
need/want and more pop-ups then I ever got before installing SP2. I blocked
everything and set security levels w/ no help.... Restored to my original
configuration and the "problems" ended.....
