going live and outlook

Its up to the company to charge additional costs.
I believe that msn has some margin to sacrifice from
its profit margin for the sake of future profits.
People use computers, at home and at work.
It is microsofts's own interest to indtorduce additional features.
Dont look at everything from the perspective of money.

synchronization in outlook !

Sounds like a scheme to add additional license fees on top of what one
already pays.

If you don't think a vendor like Microsoft doesn't, you're delusional. That
said, I have no issue with MS making money. I just think the trend toward
charging for online services to make the product work on top of licensing
the product for the desktop is a bad trend.
 
If one does not have Outlook on the desktop, the on-line Live service
provides it. It is generally a great bargain for those who have Works but
want Outlook for its PIM abilities.
