going back to previous -- seems impossible

I've lost my entire Palm calendar due to file corruption, even the back ups.
Someone said one could go into XP and go back a week or more as if there
were previously saved versions. has anyone heard anything like this?

Are you referring to "System Restore" from Start>Programs>Accessories>System
Tools?
