It seems these days as though I can hardly fire up
without yet another message that Googleearth is
trying to access privileged resources via
c:\windows\system32\msiexecmd
is this a geniune function, or yet another scan?
Sorry if this is off-topic, but if so a pointer to a
better source would be appreciated. Thanks.

You should present your messages a little more carefully too. ;-)

"Google Earth" and "c:\windows\system32\msiexec.exe: were *probably* what
you meant - right?

What is giving you the message? What application, that is...?

What AntiVirus and what Firewall do you use?

It may be trying to update.
