I went to disk management and accidently deleted an logical drive
it automaticaly deleted my 3 20GB partitions without asking
what I do know

is there a way I can get my files back ?

I did not think that this program is going to delete the the extended
partition without asking and on a top of everything with existing logical
drives

this is another Microsoft disaster
I haven't seen a working software from Microsoft yet

the only problem I have all the software I need to use run on windows
I can't switch to Linux

Why on earth did you do that for your physical hard disk. You know that
doing something like that will make u regret for life.
Well i think the only way to recover them is to use third party utilities
like undelete which will restore the data. But make sure that you dont use
the disk more now cos that, more the disk you use, the chances for recovery
will reduce.

*You* deleted the drive, and blame it on Microsoft?

accidentally deleted the extended partition and 2 logical drives
disappeared with it

Now I managed to find the logical drives with a Stellar Phoenix software and
I can recover all the files in deleted logical drives

my problem is that the Phoenix software is asking for location where to
recover and I only have the system partition working and there is on 2.6 GB
free space and in the 2 deleted logical drives there is about 30 GB data
it looks like I need to borrow or buy a hard drive to move all the lost data
to it and than create a new partitions and format them on the old drive and
move the data back
Unless there is a way to recreate manually the old extended partition with
the 2 logical drives
I know the beginning sectors for the 2 lost logical drives
Can anybody help with this?

The problem is not caused by any MS issue. It is clearly the result of a
faulty "chair-keyboard" interface!!

well
I don't think that the disk management should delete the extended partition
if there are logical drives
that's how it worked with the old fdisk

If "YOU" accelerate your car to 100 mph and "YOU" guide it to a cliff and
the car goes off said cliff and is destroyed, is it the car's fault???

It sounds like M. Rajesh has a logical solution to your problem. But, I
can't help but ask; What was your reason for being in the utility in the
first place (What were you attempting to do)...Your answer here in this part
of your post makes it sound like you were testing to see if the program
would in fact delete the extended partitian (I say this because you said;
you "didn't think that this program is going to delete the the extended
partitian without asking..." ; It sounds like you had your own fate in your
own hands, and had the presence of mind to "think" about what you were about
to do, right to the bitter end. I mean no disrespect, but the question is a
valid one.

It sounds like you have been overcome with a the uncontrollable impulse
known as Tinkeritis. This has inflicted much of the population , a one time
or the other.
This is curable , acknowledge that you have suffered from it , and don't let
it infect you again. Jym

not really

I had 5 logical drives in the extended partition 1 NTFS, 1 FAT32, and 3 ext3
partitions
I wanted to delete the linux partitions so I clicked on one of them but
somehow the extended partition got higlighted and I did'n notice. I clicked
delete and
it deleted the extended partition imediatly and gave me 5 error mesages for
all 5 logical drives. At that point I knew I'm screwed.
when the error boxes came up the logical drives were gone
so this is what happened no warning or "do you really wana do this" message
nothing

but I managed to find the logical drives with Phoenix FAT NTFS recovery
tool, Now I need to buy a hardrive to recover the data to
In my system partition there is only 2.5 Gb free space
is there any recovery tool that can recover the erased partition table so I
don't have to move data from one drive to another?
