When opening the calendar in Outlook XP, is there a way to have it 'go to'
today automatically? I find it odd that I have to hover my mouse over the
time icon in the system tray to get the current date when I have the
calendar opened in Outlook.

Thanks.

there is a go to today button when you are in the calendar.

if it's not opening on the current day when you first open it, you need to
tab to the calendar -outlook 2002 keeps focus on the folder list under some
conditions.

Thanks for the reply.
When I click on the Today button, nothing happens if the calendar is sitting
at the current month. Same if I use View > Goto > Today. When the calendar
opens, there is simply no indication on the calendar itself as to the
current day.
I use Notes at work, and when I open that calendar, the current day is
always highlighted.

I just find it odd, that for a calendar program, I have to hover over the
time in the task tray to figure out today's date.

Thanks.

Click Tools>Options>Other>Advanced Options. At thew top, click Browse and
select your mailbox root for the "Startup in this folder" destination.

outlook does highlight today - something is wrong on your end
see the screen shots of how it's supposed to look

Notice where the dark blue blocks are... the first one is how yours
probably looks, the second one is how it should look.

you can either tab to the calendar or click in it if you prefer mousing.
