Gmail advice

Frnk's original message has been deleted from the NG. Anything to do
with Google or gmail is not allowed on MS portal. Does this sound like
Microsoft feeling the threat from Google?

I don't think so. I often advise people to search
Google for answers and refer people to Google
links with the phrase "Google is your friend."
None of my messages concerning Google have
been deleted, nor have I been threatened. Perhaps
in time Microsoft search will become the equal of
Google vast power but until that day arrives...

Wanted to try Gmail but lost interest upon learning
that an existing Gmail user had to sponsor me. Don't
know anyone who's using Gmail. If I had a Gmail
account, doubt MS would block my MS newsgroup
participation.

How did you arrive at this conclusion? The original message was asking
about GMAIL but for some stupid reasons, NG moderator under the
influence of some jerk MVP decided to pull it down. The message wasn't
offensive in any way except that it was designed to promote GMAIL
indirectly.

Does this make me paranoid for forming my own opinion? If so, what does
it make you then? You have clearly made up your mind about me witout
knowing me or about my background.

I can't understand why the message such as:

be deleted?

Very absurd indeed. Few days ago my messages were all dated 2031. My
system date was correct but messages were stamped 2031. God knows how
this happened. It seems NG is as buggy as other MS products!

I am seeing lots of threads that are missing the original posts, looks like
a server problem rather than a deletion.

It has been removed from the Microsoft server. It will still exist on other
servers or in your message store if you downloaded it previous to it's
deletion.

Humm, I downloaded it today, just prior to my reply, from the MS server
so the claim from YESTERDAY that it was deleted doesn't wash.

Nope, it still resides on the MS servers, I just came here, and this thread
downloaded with the OP. Maybe you should have added "maybe" to your
statement :-).
 
You are right it appears to be back up. Maybe it was just a glitch. It does
seem that Microsoft is very sensitive about anything to do with Google
lately :-)

It does appear to be back. It was missing yesterday afternoon and earlier
this morning.

The MS servers are not totally reliable, as I have posted before, and seen
where it didn't show up, but another replied to it. So I know they make it
to UseNet, and can be viewed anywhere there. MS also deletes posts it deems
not for (pro) MS, some I agree with, most I do not.

A little slow, but so is all web mail. I only took it to "grab" my
name before someone else did.
