Global.asa File

I just made some updates to my website, the only thing I
added other then normal was some Text effects (Fly in
fron right corner). When I went to publish I got a
notice that my server does not support Global.asa, I
continued anyway. The page works fine. But I was
wondering where this file came from and did some
searching and have seen horror stories about crashes
caused by this file, etc. etc. from diffrent web sources.
I am not running any data access scripts that I know of
or anything that would create a global.asa file.
1) Can I just delete it?
2) What could have caused its creation?
3) Any ideas, please help

If you aren't using ASP or a database connection then just delete it.
