Glich in System with doing Complex Animations in Master

I have PowerPoint 2003 on XP.
Using the Master slide with adding Custom Animations, I am unable to
re-order the effects as I can with each regular slide (except I don't want to
have to do this with each individual slide--that's what the Master is for, i
think). For example, I start with Appearing, followed by Style Emphasis for
each line. The Master slide won't let me do this as the normal slides will.
Even if i create a new Animation Scheme with quikanim.ppt I still cannot do
this.
Actually, I just want to have each item in a list appear one at a time, go
bold or italics/bold or something catchy, then go back to normal as i click
for the next one to appear. I don't want the whole list to appear at once
then go bold one at a time.
I have searched everywhere for ways to do this. It seems like a basic
need... is it something special?

even when i create this planned animation set within quikanim.ppt, it still
WILL NOT work when I select it from the animation list for my presentation

what happens each time is this: each item will appear, one at a time, then
each will do the style emphasis one at a time. but i want them to appear, do
the style emphasis, then have the next appear, do the style emphasis, then
the next one and so on. I don't want to reveal my whole presentation at the
outset.

thanks

Sounds to me as if you need to expand the animations on the animation task
pane and then drag the appropriate emphasis animations up so that the order
goes like this:

appear
emphasis style
appear
emphasis style
appear
emphasis style

alas, i've done this very thing you've suggested, and it only works on an
individual slide, but i want to do all my slides (up to 100) like this, and I
don't want to have to do them one at a time
if i apply this plan to an animation in quikanim.ppt it doesn't work
correctly when i apply it to the actual slides; and actually the program
called Animation Carbon doesn't do it either
and when i try to re-order the slides on the Master, it is impossible. the
"re-order" function is disabled on the Master
the problem i don't know how to get around is that PowerPoint
automatically takes the "appear, emphasis style, appear, emphasis style,
appear, emphasis style" and changes it to "appear, appear, appear, emphasis
style, emphasis style, emphasis style."

thanks
