GIF animations wont move

i have a problem. on the internet gif animations wont move. tried in opera ie6 and msn explorer. have xp home. works offline. just upgraded from dial up to ADSL. Might be caused by this. maybe not. have Telstra bigpond internet. respond here or to email. mailto:[email protected]
 
Go to internet options..advanced tab and scroll down to multimedia and make
sure play animations in web pages is checked.
 
Play animations in web pages is already checked. This therefore is not the problem? Does anyone have any other ideas?
