Hi,

I am trying to figure out the proper program to use to image multiple
computers so i can ship them out to my branch offices. As of right
now, we are using Ghost 2003 and booting from Dos with a network boot
disk but i was wondering if there is a new program that can do this
for me. Does anyone have an idea?

Thanks
Jason

I seem to "see" that Ghost still may be a "recommended" method of
cloning. However, Ghost is now at version 10.0.

It is. But they removed the DOS based imaging feature from Ghost 10.
Therefore, how do i image multiple computers without using DOS?

Depending on how many PCs you need to do or how often, you may want to
look at Microsoft's OPK Tools. These are a series of tools which
usually allows OEM reseller a method of pre-installing Windows and
other software. Then, these tools allows to to "publish" the
configured image onto a number of PCs. It is similar to the set up of
large OEM (Dell, IBM and HP) uses to pre-install the software on their
PCs.

Can you tell me anything more about these? I am a newbie when it comes
to this.

Ghost 2003 is a retail product for the home user.

If you "...ship them out to my branch offices" then you are violating the license agreement.
You SHOULD be using Symantec Enterprise Ghost with sufficient licenses for each Ghosted
platform.

Enterprise Ghost will create Ghost Boot Disks (MS/PC-DOS) on a Floppy or you can create a
CDROM.
Using a Ghost Bost Disk is the BEST way to create clones. One advantage of Enterprise Ghost
ocver the retail version of Ghost is Multi-Cast IP. That means you can restore a given
Ghost Image to numerous platforms at the same time. Each booting from a Ghost Boot Disk
using a different IP address.

ok. Good to know. Can you show me a link to that program? The only
enterprise software i see is Symantec's Backup Exec System Recovery.
Do you know anything about that.
