Well, as Slobodan suggested, I went out and Purchased Ghost. Guess what,
same issue. It does not recognize a CF in a USB Writer/Reader either!!!
What a waste of $70!

Sorry Richard,

I was not around to give you the answer on question when you told that you are going to store. And to send you an util :(
You were too eager and quick to go shopping :-(
Make your small program for this or use third party programs like ghost
sdimgr, etc.

Actually my point was on custom tool same answer as Mark gave you.
sdimgr (included with XPe) or ghost were just an examples of some third party (non OS integrated tools).

Regards,
Slobodan

Look for the drivers I sent on another thread.
Ghost does work with USB-to-CF device with the correct drivers.

Mark,
Any hints? I've google and googled for everythread with your name and ghost
in it and returned 3 hits. I'm still looking.

Richard

He gave you reply with attachment in first thread that you initiated.
But you will need outlook express configured to read this NG so you can access it.

Regards,
Slobodan

Thanks Mark, I had found them. Virus software had stripped them.
I didn't have any luck with them. I did get DD for Windows to work although
it takes about 12 minutes per CF.

This may not help you out but it may help out others in similar situations
as I.

Here are some things I have done for cloning:
I use an IDE to CF adaptor from Mesa Electronics
http://www.mesanet.com/
Part # CFADPT IV (on price list as CFACPT 1) $17
All you do is hook it up like a hard drive (need to get a 4 pin to floppy
style power cable adaptor available at compusa or online).
This allows my PC to see my CF as a HD on my development computer.
Note: I have had some computers not recognize this. Its hit and miss.

For production cloning, I use 2 of the CF to IDE adaptors along with the
following:
http://www.logicube.com/products/hd_duplication/echo.asp
$515 and no PC is required. Plug it in and hit a couple buttons for an
exact clone of CF card. It only takes a couple minutes to clone and it will
clone even EWF partitions. I have been using this for about 10 months now
and we clone all the time for production units. (128,256 and 512 MB CF
cards).
Logicube had a money back guaranty when I asked if it would clone CF cards.

When I want to make a new image, I actually have a pre-formatted CF card
that already has my partitions set up and formatted so I can copy new Pre
FBA image onto it using a USB to CF card reader then FBA it in my target.
The Echo saves me lots of time and does not tie up a computer.

More background on my app:
I use Transcend CF cards (45x) that have been configured as non-removable
I am using the standard EWF mode with EWF partition.
