I have twice installed IE7 using windows xp Home. each time I have gotten a
mouse moves left and up after I stop it. What is the deal here...its driving
me crazy. I have run all the suggestions before installing IE7. I have tried
spybot ec etc etc. Anyone know the cause of this stupid assed bug? And no it
is not an optical mouse.

Options:

1) Try another (known to be good) mouse. The current one may be worn out.

2) Right-click My Computer > Properties > Hardware tab > Device Manager
button. Check the listing for "Mice and other pointing devices" and see if
there is an error or problem with the device driver. You may have to
re-install or update the driver software.

3) If the mouse is a PS2 with a USB adapter or a USB mouse perform option #2
and look for an anomaly with a USB driver.

4) Along with #3, try another USB port for the device.

5) It may sound silly, but check the surface that the mouse is on. Is it
level? Does is have any vibration?

I once had a similar problem that turned out to be an uneven surface with a
slight vibration the printer, in which the mouse slid on it's own. I fixed
it with a thin rubberized pad under the PC and printer.
