Getting wrong address with nForce4 network card

Hello,

I have a small problem. I have an nForce4 motherboard and I'm having
trouble using it.
I have a network of 4 computers, connected to a HUB and from there to
an ADSL modem/router.
If I'm putting the NIC on "automatically get address" it gets a strange
address (169.254.65.67 with subnet 255.255.0.0) which is not even close
to my modem/router address (192.168.1.1, with subnet of 255.255.255.0).

If i'm trying to give a manual address, it doesn't work. I give it an
address of 192.168.1.4 for example, mask 255.255.255.0, default gateway
192.168.1.1 .

I also have a normal PCI NIC which works fine, but I want to use my
motherboard nForce4 network card.

Please, if anyone knows how to solve this problem i'll be glad.

Thank you.

The 169.254.x.x address indicates that the network connection is
configured to obtain an IP address automatically and can't
communicate with a DHCP server to get an address. Something's wrong
with the hardware (NIC, cable, hub port) or software (NIC settings,
driver program) setup.

Try explicitly setting the NICs speed and duplex mode to values that
the hub supports -- automatic sensing sometimes fails. If it's a hub,
not a switch, it only supports half duplex.

If that doesn't help, go to Device Manager, un-install the NIC, and
re-install it.
