getting wmv9 footage into an avi container

How can I do this. I have some footage sent to me for
editing. Very impressed with media 9 video codec. I can
conert this to .avi but with recompression. I would like
to take the .wmv and put it in an AVI container so that
the VCM can use it. basically .avi with WMV3 fourcc

You'd need the WMV VCM codec package-
