The Old Timer

A few months back I installed Compro Pro DigiMate DVB-300 video capture
card. This appears to work OK but the installation appears to have
upset the fire wire capture settings that I had been using with Sony
Vegas 5. Whenever I go to use the Sony capture software I find that
all of my settings are for the Video Tuner card. Never do I see any
options to change the settings from analogue video capture. If I click
on any of the existing settings everything freezes & the only way out is
to press reset.

Is there any other way to get thinks back to the way that they should be
by either uninstalling the PC tuners software, or through changing file
associations or any other method that will allow me to get things going
again?

I have Vegas 6 and it has options to allow me to select the device for
importing video.

Do you happen to have Win XP with Windows Movie Maker? It also may
allow you to change your input device. Changing it in Movie Maker may
also change the default in Vegas.

My initial thought is that there is nothing wrong with your Windows
install/configuration. Removing your capture hardware may make Vegas
work, but I doubt you would want that as a permanent solution. I would
recommend posting this question on a Vegas news group.

Good luck.

I have tried uninstalling the tuner card but it made no difference. I
have reinstalled Vegas 5 & again it makes no difference. What I finally
did was to use devise managed to disable the tuner card & then I was
able to capture. I'm still working on a better solution.
