I have 2 routers with two different 192.168.. adresses.
Each router can see it's own workstantions but not the
other's even though I can ping the other router and
workstations from a pc on either segment. How do I get the
segments to see each other in My Network Places, View
Computers? What simple thing am I missing here when there
are two different routers with two different IP addresses
that allows it to become one integreted viewable network?
Thanks.

A domain. In order to browse across subnets you need a domain and a Wins
server(s).

While it won't support browsing in My Network Places, this procedure
will let you access a computer in the other subnet without requiring a
domain:

1. Assign static IP addresses to all of the computers.

2. Create an LMHOSTS file on each computer that gives the mapping of
computer names to IP addresses for the other subnet.

3. Set the default gateway on each computer to point to the router for
its subnet.

Then, type another computer's name in the Start | Run box in this
format:

\\computer
