getting to xp user files without windows open

This is a weird one.

I was having trouble starting XP Home Ed so I reinstalled
it on my 2nd partition.
Now, it starts up fine on the new partition and I CAN get
at
all of my files on the original partition EXCEPT the files
that are under a users name (mine) that was password
protected.

It shows my file but it says that it is empty and when I
click on it it says that I do not have permissions to get
in it!

PLEASE HELP! The old install of windows on the first
partition can not be gotten to even in safe mode. I tried
the recovery console but I am not that familar with it./
..
