Getting the word SPAM before replies from legitimate sender

Greetings:

I frequently get email from an outside party (outside meaning outside of my
company) and today an oddity occurred. When the outside party replied to my
email, in the subject line there was the word SPAM, now I don't think I have
anything turned on that would allow that to occur but again I don't know why
that would come up. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thank you.

Either you have spam filtering software running or your mail provider does,
and the software is flagging it as possible spam so you can use rules in
your client to filter such messages to another folder.

Check to see if you have Norton Anti Spam, or if whatever antivirus software
you use contains a spam filter application. Contact your ISP as well and
ask if they are using a spam filter that would do this. Some ISPs allow you
to log into you web-based email and customize your spam settings, including
whitelisting a particular sender so they are never flagged again.

The same thing happens to me in my Outlook 2007. I never experienced it
before I upgraded to this new version. It must be some automatic filter. Now
whenever I recieve emails from certain lists they are marked spam and put in
the junk email file. When I try to respond the word spam is in the subject
line. I'll be watching your string to see what advice you get. rmcdonald

2007 does not place the word SPAM in the subject. I think that when you
upgraded to 2007 you also installed a SPAM filter. Disable or uninstall it
and see it it happens again. I expect it won't.

I hope this helps you at least a little bit!
