I got Mozilla Firefox and though I don't mind keeping IE on the cpu, I can't
get it to stop sending me pop-ups non stop. I went to security and turned it
really high so that nothing could get through, but now my gmail notifier
can't access the net, even though it is set to access via Firefox. Anyone
know what I should leave enabled, or any way I can make an exception for it?
Thanks.

Sounds as if you have a spyware or adware infestation. What have you done
to get rid of unwanted pests such as these?

It sounds like your computer is infested with malware. Switching
browsers may temporarily hide the issues but will do nothing to solve
the underlying problems. Scan for viruses/malware and make sure your
computer is 100% clean.
