Hi,

There are technicians going out for sevice works. Everyone has notebooks and
a service form created in Acces to fill. Every form must have a unique
number. I want them to get a batch of numbers (a group of ticket) from
server before they go out and during the time they are out they will use
number from those numbers they got before. Does anybody know if there is
such samples somewhere in internet? or How can I organize a database like
that.

Thanks a lot.

This may or may not be too helpful, but you could create a composite key,
consisting of the Employee Number and the Ticket Number.

Assign everyone an Employee number (3 digits). Then append the Ticket
Number.

001-001
001-002
001-003
002-001
002-002

In this case, you know that the 1st 3 characters are the employee. Anything
after that is the ticket number.
