getting multiple copies of same email in inbox

I have outlook '03, as part of microsoft office professional edition. For
the past few weeks I've been receiving multiple copies of an increasing
number of emails from different senders (all approved). I've spoken to both
the individuals and companies who are sending these to me and all claim that
they're only sending one copy of each email -- and i'm not registerred
multiple times.

each of these emails appears in my inbox as having been sent at the same
time as the others from the same entity. At first it was only happening with
one of my friends emails, but now it's happening with several others.

originally there was only one extra copy, but they seem to be multiplying,
and at times I get anywhere from 2 - 5 copies.
