I know this sounds dumb, but is it possible to find out what kind of
Ram a computer uses and how many slots are available without opening
the case?
My sister just bought a used computer and wants help in upgrading the
ram, but she doesn't know how to check stuff inside the case, and I
really don't want to make a trip out there just to open it and look
inside.
I'd like to find out what it needs, do the shopping, and then go
install it.
The computer does not have a model number on it. All it says is:
"Up Time Technology - 17691"
The ad she responded to said Gateway, but there is no mention of that
on the case. Is there any way I can have her check something on the
computer to determine what she can use? She currently has 480 MB of
Ram.
