Getting desperate

Hope someone can advise. I have XP Pro preloaded on my
laptop and just downloaded the new service pack. It has
somehow disabled, for lack of a better term, my USB
devices [printer, mouse, scanner, etc]. It won't even
search for new devices.

I'm realy upset with MS about this. Can't get their free
support since my ID number has expired, despite that I
just bought the computer last month.

Any help is most appreciated.

since your machine is still new...you should be able to get tech support
from
the vendor of the machine.
if worst comes to worst you can always uninstall sp2 from within the control
panel
