ok
i took out the IDE and SATA2 drive and did a clean
format/install of xp on my first SATA drive
everything is working fine and running smooth, im done with
the IDE drive, now the only problem is windows refuses to
see my second SATA drive when i attach it...
the sata controller driver is installed (because it can see
my first drive) and under device manager it knows the drive
is there, but i cant see it
already tried add new hardware etc
and len i believe you were right, in win xp setup my C:
drive came up as disk 0 id 0 on viasata1
yet windows was somehow installed on my IDE drive
my ide drive was letter d: and showed that it had nothing
on it, so i guess something was confused
DL: i want to have a 120g SATA drive by itself to run
windows and some basic apps/programs
im going to have 2x 200g SATA drives in raid for gaming and
media
thats what i meant by stand alone
so any idea on how to get windows to see my second SATA drive?
