i don't know what just happened with my last message.
i'll start again.
i am getting an error message when i turn on my
computer. it says: error loading NvQTwk
the specified module could not be found

does anybody have any idea what that means, what it does,
do i need it?
the only thing that seems to be affected is my screen
saver. it will go to the screen saver at the specified
time, but will not go to the black screen. it goes back
to my desktop picture and remains there. this started
happening around the same time i started getting the
error message.

thanks for any help you can give me!

From what I find, it's related to your nvidia video card drivers.
Go to START, RUN, type in: msconfig, START tab. Look for one of the checked
boxes containing the NvCPLDaemon in it. Un-check that box. Click apply and
say yes I want to RESTART my computer now. After your PC restarts it will
tell you something about how you have chosen selective startup. Check the
box telling windows to not display this warning every time it starts up. If
you don't have any other problems then you're probably golden. It would be a
good idea though, to go and get the lastest drivers for your video card. If
you have the lastest drivers already it wouldn't hurt to reinstall those
drivers.

I never heard of this error, but I searched on Google for "NvQTwk" and
found some hits. You may wish to look there and see if this rings any
bells with you.

i have no idea if this is right or not, but a fix is discussed at one
link http://www.computing.net/windowsme/wwwboard/forum/35093.html
related to a fult with nVidia video cards.

You mention that your screen saver is not behaving normally ... maybe
something wrong with video driver? any recent changes?

Patrick mentioned the possibility of your machine being infected with a
computer virus. I guess that also worth checking out, but I dont
understand yet the basis for that thought.
