I need to get Word 6.0 to duplex print on my Brother HL-1850 laser printer.
No problem with on other programs. The techs at Brother gave me a little
program to show all printer drivers, and with it I could remove all that I
do not use. This worked, but I seem to have lost that program with a system
crash. Can anyone help me get back to duplexing on Word 6?
TIA!

Print on both sides of the paper. That option is set within the printer
setup, but Word 6 doesn't seem to recognize it. Apparently Word 6 is
defaulting to some other driver than the one Brother supplies (?!?).

Duplex option is usually on the print driver. Firstly your printer needs to
be duplex capable. Then when you go file, print click, choose your printer,
and click properties. In here is usually the duplex option. There are two
options, one long edge binding, one short edge binding. You will choose
either one depending on whether you want to flick the page over to the right
like a book, or move the page upwards and over like a card.

You may have to reload the printer drivers to regain this option.

Duplex printing is double sided printing.

Hope it helps :)

Thank you so very much, Kenny. I'm going to hold on to this until I hear
from Brother again (they seem to be very busy about now). I'm almost sure
that Word 6 has its own PCL printer driver which it installs when you
install Word (I had to reinstall Word after my crash).

You're absolutely right, Craig, and I have done these things. But, as I
said above, I think when you install Word 6, it provides its own PCL printer
driver, which it will use unless it is removed. At the time Word 6 came
out, duplex printing was not a common option I suppose.
