Can I get rid of Windows Messenger? How? It seems to log me on whenever I
log onto the internet and runs unnoticed until some one IM's me. I don't
want it to run unnoticed like that and like the MSN version better anyway.
I have gone into the program to tell it not to log on and/or run, but it
still does. Can't find it in my "add/remove programs" to remove either.
Help!

*running latest IE 6 on XP home machine.

<reply> I did this, but the path leads me to believe that I did not disable
windows messenger (as in "instant messenger"), but something else entirely.
I want to disable Windows Messenger that seems to be associated with my
outlook express. could someone verify please?

here is the path for the messenger I disabled:
"C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe -k netsvcs"
