Get Formula from 2 variable Data Table

I received an excel document that appears to have a 2 variable data table
built in. I need to recreate this table. Is there a way to find the formula
that made the data table? Does it have to be in the upper left hand corner?
I can't find it anywhere.
 
The person who generated the table might have fixed the values before
distributing it, so there is no formula.

The cells making up the table might have been locked and hidden, and
then the sheet protected - with these settings, you only see the
values in the sheet area, but nothing shows in the formula bar.

The problem was just that it was only a 1 variable table, which would explain
why I couldn't find the formula for the second variable. Thanks for
responding.
