Anyone aware of a mouse utility to map the direct-input mouse buttons to
specific actions? I have a logitec mouse and can't use the extra buttons in
vista because of lack of vista support. I'm looking for something that
would work do the same for a mouse as ControlMK does for a joystick.

You can use Logitechs Setpoint Software, works in Vista.

It may not work, Setpoint only works with specific mice (mouses?
Meece?). If the mouse originally came with Logitech's Mouseware it
probably will NOT work with Setpoint unfortunately, BTDT.

XS11E is right, Setpoint is not usable for all Logitech rodents. Older
models using MouseWare or I-Touch are out of luck for the present. Logitech
replied to my query that they "may" include support for older devices in
future releases of Setpoint, but I'm not holding my breath.

"Mice," but I think I like your other interrogatives, better!:-)

I had to remove my Logitech mouse and Setpoint software from Vista 64,
for some reason Setpoint conflicted with Quicken Billminder, who knows
why? I've been talking to Logitech support (VERY nice people!) who
said there would be a new Setpoint that would address the conflict
problem but couldn't say when it would be available.

Meanwhile, here's a HOT TIP! Go to Fry's Electronics or similar store
and get a really cheap BTC optical mouse like this one:

Or: http://preview.tinyurl.com/37c6kz

Throw away the drivers, BTC doesn't support Vista OR 64 bit OSs,
instead, go to MSFT's website and download Intellipoint 64 bit and tell
it your mouse is a basic optical mouse.

I was able to tell the middle button to double click, set scrolling,
etc. etc.

Wanna bet BTC makes Microsoft's Intellipoint mice?
