I made the mistake of submitting my real email address in
a message I posted here the other day. Since then, I've
gotten tons of large emails (~175k) from various
addresses. Many were supposedly from Microsoft. Anyone
else experience this? What do I do to stop this (besides
blocking the addresses, which apparently didn't work!)?
 
Hi MMM,

Make sure you do not open any of the emails. You're probably getting 2
types - one that looks like an update notice from MS (it is not), and one
that looks like a "bounced" email message (it is not). If you don't open
the attachment on the first type, you'll be fine. Just delete the messages.
If you open the second type of email, you may get infected with a virus if
your system is not up to date on security updates/patches.
