Hello there! Ive got a P4 1.5 512MB RAM, with a GeForce
4 Ti 4200 with 128 MB on it, and and about 200 GB of HD
spread out over 3 drives, and a SoundBlaster Audigy
Gamer. But despite all this stuff, some basic games from
about 4 years ago (Risk 2, Unreal Tournament[the first
one], and even modern games like Star Wars Knights of the
Old Republic) which require much less of a computer have
this incredibly annoying tendency to slow down my
computer. Ive done the usual maintenance, ie, erased my
temp files from IE and defraged. Even made sure there
were no scheduled tasks that ran every 5 mins. It seems
to happen about every 5 mins or so though, for about 30
secs. Also, by using msconfig, I tried booting without
any of my startup programs running and it still occured.
Any thoughts? Thanks for you help.

Go to run,type:%temp% Then edit,select all,delete all,empty recycle bin
Even with multiple hds, have you set the slaves to be the pageing file instea
of it only on C:,setting all 3 to let windows manage will/would give you abou
1400mb of memory for the paging file + take the strain off of C
With add-in video cards, you should still have on-board display adapter active
is it disabled, last,go to run, type:DXDIAG run direct X utility.

I erased all my temp files and set up a system controlled
page file on all 3 of my drives, but its still
happening. It happens every 90 secs and last for about
30.
