I have this great gemini d-16 transperiency scanner.
It is a few years old but does everything I want well. I
was able to get an updated driver for it when I was
running minellium but have been informed that umax will
not update for XP. MS also does not support this scanner.
This scanner is a professional scanner that cost $2700
new and I hate to loose it. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Try installing and running it using the Program Compatibility Wizard.Use the
ME driver And ME setting in the Wizard.
I have never used this method but it must be worth a try.

Hi

Try use a Win2000 drivers for your scanner
If it is not available from the manufacturer'website, try install the ME drivers and run the program in compatiblity mode
If XP rejected to install the ME drivers, the work around is to setup a dual boot system

Go to www.dougknox.com and go to Win XP Tip

For Win9x/Me: Install 98/Me after XP is Installed
For Windows 2000: Install Windows 2000 after XP is installed
