Comparing my current desktop Outlook 2002 which has a nice easy readable
format with the new Outlook 2003 on my new laptop tells me someone had his or
her head in the toilet. The totally new format or layout stinks big time.

Even trying to make RULES has totally changed, no longer is it a simple
thing to do. I am totally sorry I installed it.

Cannot even move all my contacts with sub-folders, what it did was make one
big duplicate of everything in one folder.

I could say more but what's the point when all they did was make a total
mess of things.

Sorry - you are in a major minority - most folks find Outlook 2003 a vast
improvement.

I smelled my computer, the CD and even the package and can not find that it
stinks...

If you click on the second right most icon below (folder view), Outlook 2003
will display elements in traditional tree view here you can copy contact
folders quite normally and work almost like OL2002, the Outlook bar with
large icons has vanished and favourites is less practially because require
additonal clicks.
The rules wizard works the same as in all Outlook versions but there is an
additional wizard but this can be ignored if unwanted just click on the
second readio bar after click on new.

Hmm, were you inside or out in the woods when you smelt it? no shunks inside
office! Thanks you got me to smile this morning.

Now I am not sure what you mean by your comment but I am trying to make it
easier to view, or more like OL2002. I have found a couple ways to
configure/change/personalize a few things but a long ways to go. Trying to
work with the new layout style. Still have not figured out how to copy all
my "contact folders" as they are in my desktop LO 2002. I now have 3 of
everything so something not working right, meaning I am not doing something
right or it is not allowing me to do it as it says it will.

Seems simple enough to me. What exactly do you find difficult?
Cannot even move all my contacts with sub-folders, what it did was
make one big duplicate of everything in one folder.

Then you moved them all incorrectly.

You've been trying to import, haven't you? Don't import. Just use
FIle>Open>Outlook Data FIle, browse to your old PST, select it, and click
OK. If you want to completely reuse everything, just make the old PST your
delivery location at the bottom left of Tools>E-mail Accounts>Next.

Hi Brian,

Got all but one rule working fine, just took a bit of time to get them
correct. The one that won't work is for my wife's Email and it could be
because 1: the laptop is wireless and networked together with the 2 desktops
OR 2: she uses Outlook Express and Outlook rules do not reconize it.

OR 3: I am not doing something right. The rule went through fine but does
not show up in Email accounts so am assuming it is because of using OL
Express.

In time I hope to like and understand OL2003.

Yes you are correct I have been trying to import them. I will give your way
a try and let you know how it works. Not sure if I will have time before I
leave on my trip.

What your saying is I should just make a backup of them then bring them into
the laptop without importing.
