During the XP Home Ed upgrade from Win98, I received the
following error message "C:\ ..... GDIPLUS.Cat is corrupt;
it contains all zeros. The installation stops. What is
causing this? What should I do now? Thanks.

Also, physically disconnect all your peripheral hardware devices,
especially USB devices (not including your mouse, keyboard or
monitor). Uninstall any antivirus program, too!

Resolution ... Thanks for the reply. 1st, I made sure
that all programs had been stopped. 2nd, I reran the
setup. This time I had no problems. Either that set-up
error was a fluke, or a running program caused it. Either
way the installation was successful. --Mike--
