I liked Gator until they wanted $$ to stop the pop-ups. Does anyone know of an good program that saves and encrypts paswords and usernames??

You *LIKED* Gator?! It's spyware (of the worst kind) and always has been!
You've obviously not heard of GAIN (Gator Advertising (and) Information
Network).
Go here www.roboform.com and download. It's free (unless you save more than
30 passwords - you will receive a registration prompt on the 31st, and it
won't save).

I ought to add to this that you will need to download Spybot
(www.safer-networking.org) to remove the crud its removal leaves behind. Be
warned - it's extremely messy!
