Gator VS.?

My wife installed and uses Gator because the auto filling and remembering
passwords etc. Can someone tell me how to set up XP to automatically
remember passwords and fill in forms etc so I can remove this vile Program
{gator} and still keep the wife happy? Many thanks

The Google toolbar is nice and fills forms and can remember
passwords (I think, personally I remember passwords).

You might want to use SpyBot S&D to get rid of all of Gator,
the Gator uninstall leaves the spyware hidden and
functioning.

You might want to take a look at RoboForm.
Look at the FREE version, not the PRO.
Lets you store up to 30 passwords. No spyware or adware that I can find. It
also fills forms.
I prefer the older version 5.7 which you can find in their FAQ.
No problems with XP Pro SP2

You posted this on the 9th at 16:48 UTC - I know because I replied. Suggest
you search for replies to the first time you posted this instead of posting
again. I would go easier on you if you were using the CDO but I see you're
using OE, so there's really no excuse. You can watch threads so that they
stay on top of the list.

Search for replies instead of reposting as that's not likely to endear you
to anyone!
 
Get rid of Gator NOW !

It is nothing but malware.


1) Download the following three items...

Trend Sysclean Package
http://www.trendmicro.com/download/dcs.asp

Latest Trend Pattern File.
http://www.trendmicro.com/download/pattern.asp

Adaware SE (free personal version v1.05)
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/

Create a directory.
On drive "C:\"
(e.g., "c:\New Folder")
or the desktop
(e.g., "C:\Documents and Settings\lipman\Desktop\New Folder")

Download Sysclean.com and place it in that directory.
Download the Trend Pattern File by obtaining the ZIP file.
For example; lpt287.zip

Extract the contents of the ZIP file and place the contents in the same directory as
sysclean.com.

2) Update Adaware with the latest definitions.
3) Disable System Restore
http://vil.nai.com/vil/SystemHelpDocs/DisableSysRestore.htm
4) Reboot your PC into Safe Mode
5) Using both the Trend Sysclean utility and Adaware, perform a Full Scan of your
platform and clean/delete any infectors/parasites found.
(a few cycles may be needed)
6) Restart your PC and perform a "final" Full Scan of your platform using both the
Trend Sysclean utility and Adaware
7) Re-enable System Restore and re-apply any System Restore preferences,
(e.g. HD space to use suggested 400 ~ 600MB),
8) Reboot your PC.
9) Create a new Restore point
