Hello,

I would like to be able to get rid of the Gateway proprietary help page ie:
click START click Help and Support. There has just got to be a way! I have
a clean install of XP but Gateway still made sure I have there help and
support.

Thank you,

JoLyn

Your clean install was from the Gateway OEM disk, and that means you're
stuck with the Gateway H&S. The only way you can change that is
installing from a retail copy of XP.

Oh, nooooo! There has to be some registry fix or something!! Yes, you are
right it was the Gateway OEM disk. I am disappointed I so want to get rid
of Gateway H&S

Thanks again,

JoLyn

An alternate way would be to boot to the os cd (not the recovery cd) and
reinstall xp. Then insert the application cd and install only what you want.

Gateway provided 3 cd's with my computer, Drivers, Applications and
Operating System. There is no "recovery cd" as with my old Compaq. The
Operating System cd is entitled Windows XP Home Edition. I thought it was
great that Gateway would provide a disc with the operating system only to
find out that it is proprietary, I should have expected that I guess.

Thanks for your help, JoLyn
