Garbled image

When I started up my laptop this morning the image was all garbled up.It starts as soon as you turn it on so I cant log on or anything.I tried the product recovery disc but I cant read the prompts.Same with safe mode.I just cant read anything on the screen at all.The only thing that happened was my son played some on line games last nite.Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated

Have you tried pluging a monitor in to the Laptop? You mentioned Safe Mode,
did you select the option "Enable VGA Mode".
